Fine Dining

Reghimself and I were invited (by our friend, Mary Pham) to dine at a training restaurant called The Apprentice located at Ultimo. Similar to where I study, both the waiters/waitresses and chefs are students who are training to provide a fine dining service.

We arrived quite late due to the heavy rain causing delays to the train. Since we are so skilled at eating we caught up with the crowd :]

Here's some snaps!

Reghimself's appetiser: Grilled Salmon Pressed Sushi

My appetiser: Caprese Custard
[Caprese (kap-ray-zee) salad is a classic Italian appetiser. Salad of freshly sliced tomatoes interleaved with slices of mozzarella, torn basil leaves and dressed in olive oil]

The maitre D' and also our waitperson for the night.

Pretty pleased with his orders haha

Table #5: trying out some Pinot Noir!

Well done Mary ^^

My entree: Fried Stuffed Mushrooms with Creamy Spinach
It was yummy as! Definitely my fave dish for the night!

Reghimself's entree: Spiced Chicken and Lentil Salad

My main course: Pork Chops with Carrot and Parsnip Puree and Cider Sauce

Reghimself's main course: Greek Style Lamb Rack with Grilled Polenta and Zucchini

Pour me another glass of water please :D

My Dessert: Green Tea Mille Crepe with Fruits

Reghimself's dessert: Goat's Cheese Cake with Raspberry Glaze
I'm a fan of goat's cheese now!

Some deets! We only had to pay $30 all together ($15 p/h)! Our first drinks which was the wine were free ^^
Really great deal!
We headed to the station right away only to find out that our train will be delayed to another hour! We took more photos around the station but didn't go far cos everywhere was wet -.-

Look! No hands!

I ended up sleeping on his shoulders the whole trip back (with a little drool here and there.. haha).

Thanks for reading!

I suppose sometime trainees/apprentices work even better than full-time stuffs as they work to learn but not work to live =)
